NAZI GUNS FIRING BLANKS – HIGH PERCENTAGE OF DUDS FIRED BY GERMAN ARTILLERY

WITH THE BRITISH FORCES IN NORMANDY, July 11 (REUTER)–A high percentage of duds in German artillery barrages reflect steady deterioration in workmanship in Nazi armament factories.

An artillery expert said today that 10 percent was a normal figure of duds in a German barrage, while the British figure was much lower. In a recent German shoot the figure reached 80 percent, but this was exceptional.
